Presented is a joyful and merry basket of fascinating resin figures portraying the Man From the North Pole in a spectacular array of old-time hockey and baseball uniforms, with the former depicted in stunning vintage rink settings and the latter as stand-alone figures batting, fielding and pitching. Who knew Santa had such wide-ranging skills? These are really attractive figures created in this millennium as a tribute to the previous one, and seemingly every last one is in as-issued, Near-Mint or better condition. The attention to detail is little short of amazing, from tape wrapped around hockey stick handles and blades, intricate goal netting, detailing of gloves and padding and ice that looks more like ice than real ice does. For the Baseball Santas, the detail is equally compelling, with exquisite vintage uniforms, ancient team logos, pinstriping, grass and mounds. Then to top it off there are two striking Music Boxes, with hockey Santa performing his duties to the exultant “The Ride of the Valkyries.” Here’s the breakdown: 1) 1926 New York Rangers Goalie – 6-inch figure with 4-by-5-inch hockey ice base; 2) 1930 Detroit Red Wings Player at the Boards – 8-inch high figure; 3) 1933 Blackhawks Player at the Boards – 8 inches high; 4) Stand-Alone Santa Hockey Figures (6) – 6 inches high, including 1926 Rangers, 1930 Red Wings, 1933 Bruins, 1934 Canadiens, 1943 Blackhawks and 1947 Leafs; Baseball Santas (14) – 1907 Tigers, 1909 Cubs, 1923 Giants, 1935 Braves, 1936 Dodgers, 1938 Giants, 1941 White Sox, 1942 Cubs, 1948 Indians, 1949 Braves, 1950 Phillies, 1951 Giants, 1957 Braves and 1960 Senators; Music Boxes (2) – 6 inches high with 4 ½-inch in diameter Sno Globe – Rangers vs. Red Wings and Canadiens vs. Bruins Puck Drop With Referee.
