Presented is an attractive example of one of the true condition-sensitive Topps insert issues of the era, the oversize 8-by-10-inch Poster insert issue from 1970 that features a large color photograph on a thin paper stock. It’s a really nice condition set, presenting essentially Excellent to Near-Mint; a few wind up with Good designations based on tiny pinhole cracks at the intersection of some of the folds. In addition, the cards carry a light pencil notation of the card No., which barely detracts from the presentation. Three of the keys have been slabbed PSA: No. 13 Alcindor – PSA 2 (mk), No. 15 West – PSA 3 (mk) and No. 17 Chamberlain PSA 2 (mk). Breakdown of the raw cards (21): No. 1 Frazier – Good, No. 2 Caldwell – Good, No. 3 Reed – Ex-Mt, No. 4 Hayes – Near-Mint, No. 5 Mullins – Good, No. 6 Robertson – Good, No. 7 Bing – Good, No. 8 Sloan – Ex-Mt, No. 9 Ellis – Excellent-Plus, No. 10 Greer – Good, No. 11 Bryant – Good, No. 12 Rule – Ex-Mt-Plus, No. 14 Walker – Good, No. 16 Cunningham – Ex-Mt, No. 18 Havlicek – Near-Mint, No. 19 Hudson – Nr-Mt, No. 20 Monroe – Ex-Mt-Plus, No. 21 Unseld – Ex-Mt-Plus, 22 Hawkins – Ex-Mt, No. 23 Van Arsdale – Ex-Plus and No. 24 Chappell – Good. This Is a great opportunity to pick up a complete set of one the truly difficult Topps basketball issues from the period in highly collectible condition.
