This 36-inch Amyx Mfg. Co. bat was once used by Ted Williams when he was in the service, either World War II or Korea. The bat has the words "Major League" on the barrel, with "Williams Style" under it and "U.S." stamped on the end of the barrel. The bat is signed by Williams in blue Sharpie and arrives with a full letter of authenticity from PSA/DNA. When our consignor had Williams sign it, The Splendid Splinter took the bat, studied it for a moment, then stood up from his chair and took a full swing with it before signing it. The consignor asked Williams if he remembered when he had used the bat, Williams indicated that it was one he had used in either World War II or Korea, but couldn't remember which one. We've tried to date the bat to a certain era, but very little is known about this West Plains, Mo. bat company aside from the fact that the company sold bats to the U.S. military during World War II and Korea. A nice gamer from Williams without having to pay a fortune.
