Offered here is an exceptional opportunity to pick up an almost unimprovable example of arguably Topps’ greatest set from the 1970’s, the colorful mid-decade 1975 issue with the full-bleed color panels that make concealing even the slightest whispers of wear a challenging task. Not with this one, though, since this is a spectacular Nr-Mt to Mt offering, with each card in individual lightweight sleeves presenting virtually as they might have been found coming right off the presses 40 years ago. Hall of Famers and stars are not broken down individually because there’s no need: they fall precisely within the broader condition range, with no discernible difference between stars and commons. The cards that most often might be adjudged Near-Mint rather than Near-Mint to Mint are so designated because of centering rather than visible corner wear. Colors are blazing, photo registration and gloss are superb and corners are so sharp you could poke your eye out (but why would you?): there might be 100 or so cards that have centering noticeable enough that they might be subjectively addressed, but most are not enough to earn a technical “off-center” disclaimer. Simply put, for the most discerning and discriminating high-grade collectors, this is an offering that deserves your closest scrutiny.
