Here are nearly 30 cards from the elegant Red Man Tobacco card series issued in the 1950’s with chewing tobacco and constituting some of the most attractive cards issued during the period. The offered lot of 3 ½-inch square cards (no Tabs) is headlined by three cards from 1952 with autographs, indeed three of the keys to that issue: Feller and Spahn (both Good) and Musial Poor with an erratic cut. A fourth autograph by the legendary flake Jim Piersall is from 1954 (Fair). The balance of the array is found in a condition fairly typically of how these condition-sensitive treasures are typically encountered in mature collections, mainly Very Good to Fair, with a couple above and below. Here’s the breakdown: 1952 (8) Three autographs mentioned above, plus Kiner, Durocher, Wynn and Snider (Good) and Berra (Fair); 1953 (7) – Hamner (Very Good); Ford and Westrum (Good); Dressen, Lockman and Avila (Fair); and Campanella (Poor with more than ½ of back with paper loss); 1954 (11) – Rosen is VG-Ex; Mathews, Hodges and Erskine (VG); Minoso, Repulski and Bauer (Good); Rizzuto, Busby and Piersall (Fair); and Pierce (Poor); and 1955 (3) – Logan and Antonelli (Fair), and Reese (Poor).
