In the early 1980’s, Gartlan baseball statues took the fledgling hobby by storm, bursting on the scene with masterful depictions of many of the great stars of an earlier era, and by the end of the decade they had moved into other sports as well, so it would come as no surprise when The Great One got his own Gartlan statue as the decade came to a close. Wayne Gretzky dominated his sport like no other athlete of any description, so this stunning 10-inch ceramic statue is a perfect tribute to his unfathomable accomplishments on the rink. A Gretzky autograph appears on the 3-inch nameplate on a statue that lays claim to the same extraordinary attention to detail that was the hallmark of most of the Gartlan creations throughout the decade. The statue is an Artist’s Proof, in an extremely limited edition of only 300, and comes in the original box (Ex), with the Styrofoam packaging and only some light scuffing on the top. The sculpture is essentially as-issued and problem free, a fitting tribute to one of the most revered and revolutionary figures in the sport of professional hockey. Full LOA from BAS.
