Nile Kinnick is considered one of the best college football players ever. The talented halfback excelled in the 1939 season. That year, he led the Iowa Hawkeyes to a 6-1-1 mark. But more amazing are the records he set that still stand today. Kinnick was involved in 107 of the 130 points that Iowa scored that season and played 402 of a possible 420 minutes. That season, Kinnick set 14 school records, six of which still stand. He was honored with virtually every major award in the country including the Walter Camp Award, Maxwell Award, Associated Press Male Athlete of the Year (beating out Joe DiMaggio and Joe Louis); Big Ten MVP and he was a consensus first team All-American. In 1939, he also won the Heisman Trophy. Spurning professional football overtures, he returned to school but left after a year to join the naval reserves. His life was cut short in 1943 during a routine training flight off the coast of Venezuela. He died at 24, his body was never recovered. According to PSA's Autograph Facts, less than 20 Kinnick signatures are known to exist so this is your chance to get one. Not only is the Kinnick signature extremely rare and desirable, but this one is also extremely high quality, grading a PSA/DNA 9, arriving in the company's slab oversized slab.
